Comparison of different symmetric measurements. (a) This result uses the difference between thicknesses on each side of the skull to measure symmetry. (b) This result uses the difference between center-to-edge distances on each side. Because of the irregularity on the skull edge, the thickness based symmetry cost sometimes leads to wrong approximate position.
