Terminology used in our study. Detailed legend: Each trial contains 1 to n eligibility criteria to describe the patient population under investigation. Each criterion contains one to n patient characteristics, which must be known in order to evaluate whether the criterion is true for a given patient. Each patient characteristic can be mapped to 0 to n data elements in the EHR, which hold the relevant data regarding the characteristic.
