Many of the patients who were prescribed hachimijiogan did not have depressed mood, irritability, heat sensation in the face, or hot flashes. They also tended to not have neck stiffness. In contrast, many patients who were prescribed kamishoyosan had a more depressed mood, irritability, heat sensation in the face, and hot flashes, but did not exhibit early-morning awakening. Patients who were prescribed keishikaryukotsuboreito tended to have a more depressed mood and early-morning awakening and to not have irritability or hot flashes
